It was quite easy to replace. the wiring was identical twin, and so were the centres of wall mount hole. the installation instructions were clear enough. my one beef is that the new thermostat without back lighting that the old man had. the letters are small enough where one needs a flashlight during installation, which requires three hands, sometimes it's embarrassing
